Apprenticeship Program

Plumbing/Pipefitting/HVAC

 Local 4 offers apprenticeships in plumbing, pipefitting, and HVAC tech.  Apprenticeships take five years to complete through classroom and shop training at night, and on the job training during the day. In addition to plumbing, pipefitting, and HVAC instruction, all apprentices receive training in welding.

Welding

In addition to plumbing, pipefitting, and HVAC instruction, all apprentices are required to attend training in welding one night a week.

Apprenticeship Applicants

UA Local 4 accepts applications the first Tuesday of each month between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. unless the first Tuesday is a holiday. In that case, applications will be accepted the second Tuesday of the month.   You must apply in person at the hall (go to the main office located at the front LEFT side of the building).  All applicants will be charged a non-refundable administrative fee of $25 to apply. Certified/treasurers check or money order should be made out to UA Local 4.  We do NOT accept personal checks, cash, or credit cards.  Applications are held on file until the next time the program opens, at which point applicants are contacted by mail with further instructions.

Minimum Requirements

 Applicants must:

  • be at least 18 years old at time of acceptance;
  • have a high school diploma or GED;
  • have a valid driver's license; and
  • if applicable, provide a Form DD-214.
