In addition to plumbing, pipefitting, and HVAC instruction, all apprentices are required to attend training in welding one night a week.
The deadline to apply for the 2025 apprenticeship opening is April 30, 2025. No applications will be accepted after that, with the exception of mailed applications that are postmarked by April 30th. To request an application, email info@ualocal4.com or stop by the hall (150 Hartwell Street, West Boylston) to pick one up. Applications will not be emailed the week April 21-25, but any requests will promptly be responded to on April 28th. Please make sure your information is legible. You must have a valid email address to apply. Once we have processed your application, you will receive an invitation by email to take the computer-based trade knowledge assessment exams at Local 4. There is a non-refundable $25 administrative fee to take these exams. (We only accept money orders or treasurer/cashier’s checks. We do not accept personal checks, cash or credit cards. Payment is due when you arrive for testing.) The assessment test process can take up to two hours. The results of the assessments will be held on file by Local 4 until the program opens. At that point, based on individual results, you may be notified of a date and time for an interview.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: We will NOT be accepting applications during the month of May in order to make updates to our application process.
